About
GdzieZabawa collects small local events in Poland that rarely reach ticket sites: harvest festivals (dożynki), town days, fairs, picnics and village dances. Each event shows the date, the place and a link to its source, usually the municipality or the local culture house.
A crawler reads official municipal websites and event lists, a small AI model only pulls dates and places into a fixed schema, and a publishing gate rejects anything without a proven place and organiser. Goal: an eye on every one of Poland's 2,479 municipalities. As of 6 Oct 2026, 1,866 of them (75.3%) have a verified event source, and the site showed 122 published events in 78 municipalities.

What went wrong
PHP trim() cut an emoji byte by byte in an event title, so from 02:02 on 6 Oct 2026 every crawler run failed its public readback until a fix went live at 08:35. The coverage counter also flattered us: counting only real event lists dropped it from 78% to 69.9%.
