Reporting content and moderation (Digital Services Act)

Last updated: 7 October 2026. Version 1.0.

heyImade hosts content added by users, so the EU Digital Services Act (DSA, Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) applies to us. This page explains how to report content, what we do with reports and how to appeal. heyImade is run by a micro enterprise (Łukasz Król, sole trader in Poland, details: https://kroltech.eu/kontakt/#dane-firmy).

1. Single point of contact

For users, authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services:

kontakt@heyimade.com — in English or Polish.

We do not have a legal representative in the EU because we are established in Poland.

2. How to report content

Use the "Report" button next to any project, comment, image or profile, or go to https://heyimade.com/report. You do not need an account.

Please tell us:

  1. Where — the link to the content (the form fills it in when you use the button);
  2. Why — choose a reason (for example: illegal content, copyright, malware or phishing, content involving minors, sexual content, hate or harassment, spam, vote manipulation, other) and explain in your own words why the content is illegal or breaks our terms;
  3. Your name and email (optional) — needed if you want a confirmation and our decision. We also review anonymous reports;
  4. a short statement that you believe the report is accurate and complete.

For copyright, say what work is yours and where it is copied. For content involving the sexual abuse of children you do not need to give any personal data.

3. What happens next

  1. Confirmation. If you gave an email, we confirm receipt.
  2. Review by a person. The operator reviews each report. We do not decide reports by automated means only.
  3. Interim measures. Reported images and anything in the adults-only section are hidden until we decide. Malware, phishing and content involving minors are blocked immediately.
  4. Decision. We aim to decide within 7 days, and urgent safety cases as soon as possible. If you gave an email, we tell you the decision and how to appeal.
  5. Serious crimes. If content suggests a threat to someone's life or safety, we inform the police (art. 18 DSA). Child sexual abuse material is blocked and reported to Dyżurnet.pl and the police.

4. Statement of reasons for the person whose content is affected

If we hide, remove or limit content or an account, the author gets a statement of reasons (art. 17 DSA) by email and in their account. It says:

  • what we did (for example hid a comment, removed a project from rankings, suspended the account) and for how long;
  • the facts: what content and why;
  • whether we acted on a report or on our own initiative;
  • whether automated tools were used (for example a rate limit or a vote held automatically for review);
  • the basis: which point of our Terms, or which law, if the content is illegal;
  • how to appeal (section 5) and other options (section 6).

We do not send a statement for spam that we remove in bulk, or where an authority asks us not to.

5. Appeal (internal complaint)

You can appeal within 6 months from the decision: reply to the decision email or write to kontakt@heyimade.com with the subject "Appeal" and the link to the content. You can appeal a decision against your content or account, and, as the person who reported, a decision not to act.

A person reviews the appeal again, looking at the original facts and anything new you send. We answer within 14 days. If we were wrong, we restore the content or account without delay. Appeals are free.

6. Other options

  • You can go to court at any time.
  • You can complain to the Digital Services Coordinator in your country. In Poland this is the President of the Office of Electronic Communications (Prezes UKE).
  • Certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies under art. 21 DSA may also help; we will engage in good faith if you use one.

7. Repeated misuse

  • Accounts that often publish clearly illegal content are first warned and then suspended for a reasonable time (art. 23 DSA).
  • People or accounts that often send clearly unfounded reports may have their reports put aside for a reasonable time, after a warning.

8. Orders from authorities

We act on orders from courts and authorities to remove illegal content or provide information (art. 9 and 10 DSA), and we tell the affected user when the law allows.

9. How we moderate and rank

  • Our rules: Terms of Service, section 7 "What is not allowed".
  • Tools we use: rate limits, automatic holding of suspicious votes for human review, blocking links in comments from new accounts. A person makes every decision to remove content or block an account.
  • How the ranking works: https://heyimade.com/how-ranking-works. No paid influence on the order.

10. Transparency reports

As a micro enterprise we are not required to publish DSA transparency reports. We keep records of reports and decisions so we can answer authorities.
